ARTIST

Rosh Ravindran has been pursuing art for many years under the tutelage of eminent artist M G Doddamani (MFA from Santiniketan and NEA awardee). He works in various mediums, and a lot of his works have been portraits done in charcoal, pastel, and acrylic. His art mostly evolves around feministic and environmental themes. He is one of the founding members of Oorja Expressions, an organization that curates art as a medium to respond to social causes. He’s also a novice graphic designer and an amateur web developer, and loves to be in and around the mountains.

ART

Rosh’s art practice centers on portraiture that honor existence, identity, and achievement. His ongoing series Facets celebrates women in science, technology, and industries, shifting the focus from conventional notions of beauty to the depth of achievement and intellect. He combines the classic portraiture with more contemporary background that are semi-abstract or surreal. Most of his artworks are a combination of photography, painting, designing, and fabrication.

BIO

Rosh Ravindran has completed his Bachelor’s in Visual Art from Kannada University, Hampi. He has exhibited his works in many shows including the National Exhibition of Art and Karnataka Lalithakala Academy annual exhibitions, and he is a recipient of the Karnataka state Lalithakala Academy award. His first solo exhibition “Facets” was at Venkatappa Art Gallery in 2025.
